Having given up on finding any of my ex-girlfriends, Cacophony floated back in to my life from the darkness last weekend like a long-lost paper lantern.

She went home for Christmas break sophomore year and never returned. I had tried to contact her a few times over the years, and searched for traces of her online once or twice a year. I sent emails to the email addresses and once or twice send a postcard to postal addresses that I found. I never worked up the courage to risk intrusion by calling the few phone numbers that I found.

She got them all: the emails, the postcards. What's more, she was following me online. It amuses me to think that she was reading my blog and looking at my pictures all this time. I can't imagine what it must have been like for her to get a postcard from me. She wasn't ready to re-establish contact then. And now she says she is.

Welcome, Rachael. And thank you for contributing.

I have several blogs, but in this guise I have only this site.
