at the time, it felt as though we lived and loved together with a merry decadence that was somehow laudable, somehow more refined than everyday gluttony and apathy, a sort of renaissance rebirth constrained to the little house in which we lived together.

looking back at it now, though, i think that we were just college students, albeit ones with slightly more discerning tastes.


some of them were already there when i arrived; some wouldn't show up for another year yet. it wasn't until we were all there that we became the Family.
